How early can you renew your driver's license?

Is there a certain amount of time before it expires? For instance, if your license expires on June 1st, how long before that can you renew it? A month? 3 months? Etc.

ETA: Also, how long do you have to get a new license after changing your address? Do you have to have a new license in a certain amount of time, or is it ok to just have it changed in the system?

  • You could renew it every month, loss theft etc. It just costs.

  • I just changed my address on-line, but my license expires in August. So I don't want to pay for a duplicate now just to have to renew in 4 months. But when I try the "renew" option on-line, it says I'm not eligible. So just wondering when the cut-off time period is. :)

  • I would not renew more than 30 days before it expires. You could always call the DMV.
