2 Bumps

What is do you think about breastfeeding at 3 years or older?

I know this is a controversial issue and I am not trying to start anything. I know everyone has different opinions and I respect that. I just want to know your opinions on it.

  • my MIL did it with my BIL until he was 4.. brave woman. I think after the child can eat and drink on their own from a cup it is enough.. by age 2 i would have stopped. that's just me though

  • If I were to ever make milk for that long I would be freaking grateful!  Because of my own comfort level I would no longer breastfeed at that age, I would pump but that's my own personal choice.

  • No way. Not for me.

  • Any woman that has the patients and courage to do that in our society is truly an amazing woman. I think extended breastfeeding is a great thing. It continues to benefit mom and baby.

  • Last year my son bowled on a leauge for 5 year olds,,, one of the boys was having a meltdown, and his mom took him to the restroom, for what I assumed was a talk,, oh no she said he needed some "boobie" time,, I have to admit it made me feel odd, but like PP's have stated, it is none of my business, but not something I could do,, once my son had more than 4 teeth,, we were done!
