  • Walking is the best thing to get things started...just my opinion though. I dont recall feeling anything specific until my water broke.

  • It usually starts dialating around the time you lose your mucus plug. Other than that, the doctor would have to check you to see if it's started. I always walked with my pregnancies and it helped. I wouldn't do any of the old wive's tales where you drink castor oil, spicy food, etc. You'll just make yourself sick.

  • You can't make your cervix dialate, walking can help if it's already begun, and as for checking it leave that up to your ob or midwife.
