At what age should a child be allowed makeup

what i mean is eyeliner , foundation and mascara

  • I let my daughter wear foundation (mineral type) and concealer in 8th grade when she was 13; I would have allowed mascara and light (subtle) eyeliner and eye makeup at that point, but she didn't want it. I thought that was plenty soon, but most of her friends started wearing full makeup in 6th grade around age 11 or 12.

  • 13 light make up and at about 16 they can open up a little more to make up and explore it more..

  • I'd say a light amount of shadow and mascara at 12 or 13 and everything else around 15. I'm going to take my dd to the clinique counter when she is 12 or 13 so she can learn how to apply makeup without looking like a clown.

  • I'd say 14 and easy on the eyeliner, as natural as possible

  • I'd say about 13 sounds right in my book, tastefully done of course. We'll see if I still feel this way when my sweet little girl is 13- maybe then if you ask my answer will move to about 16 LOL!
