    I'd say when they can understand what you are reasoning with them about. I can reason with DS about somethings already and he is 22months. I guess it just depends on the child.

  • Elsa, great. :) I don't know, though. My dad is 60 and I still can't reason with him half the time.

    My dd just turned 2 and I can reason with her on some things. Somethings she doesn't get.

  • My 5 year old gets told all the time by complete strangers he's the best negotiator they've ever met. I foresee a future in sales... or as a lawyer lol. I've been negotiating and reasoning with him since he was an infant. It doesn't always work to my advantage, but I've apparently taught him a valuable skill for later in life lol.
