Once you test positive for group b strep does that mean each time you get pregnant you have it?

I tested positive for group b strep while pregnant with my second daughter. who is now 8. does that mean i will also test positive again? they gave me antibiotics when they induced me. but i never was told if it means that it would always be there during each pregnancy or not.

  • no. They should really test when the woman is in labor because it can change from the time you get tested to the time you deliver.

  • I don't think it's consistent like that. I had three babys strep negative and the last one was positive.
My friend was strep positive the first time and wasn't the next. :P
