At what age do children usually start to get excited about holidays?

My dd is only 14 months old. I know she a little young to get excited about Easter, but at what age did your children start to understand and get excited about holidays?

  • I think around 2 they start to get it. Usually not completely though until they are closer to 3. Then they get REALLY excited!

  • I think its more about you if you make it exciting to them just like any thing else.

  • My son is 18 months and he's finally starting to get excited about the holidays. I told him that Easter was coming which means the Easter Bunny is coming too and he said "Whoa!" and them excitedly babbling.

  • it depends....all of my children were different! My oldest son didn't start getting into it until he was around 3yo. the younger brother definately became the holiday fanatic he is today at 18mo. My daughter (the youngest) was really excited and into her first birthday party and second christmas (when she was 15mo). so i guess you will just have to wait and see what it is for your daughter lol
