Bbq tonight, what side dishes would you make?

Aside from the standard mac & potato salads?

  • i have to have coleslaw with my BBQ. in fact, if i get a BBQ sandwich when we're out...i always ask them to throw coleslaw on it. The two should marry each other. Coleslaw with BBQ is a staple in my house. We don't have BBQ without coleslaw. We usually have BBQ with Fried okra, coleslaw & some yummy rolls.

    My recipe

    1 bag shredded cabbage
    1/4 cup mayo
    2 tbsp apple cidar vinegar
    2 tbsp brown sugar
black pepper to taste (or celery seed if you prefer)
    salt to taste
Mix all together & let sit for a few hours & mix again before eating.

People have begged me for this recipe. I think the brown sugar goes so well with the apple cider vinegar...i think that's what really makes it better than some other recipes.
