Not sure if or when i should test and what test should i use..anyone advice?

my last 2period have been just light on and off spotting. feburary was early a day(feb. 1st) and march was late(got it mar. 6th). im not suppose to get my period this month until the 3rd and i started spotting today but its more brown blood then red. ive felt extremely tired the past 2months and ive had light headaches, felt really bloated, cramping on and off more then usual. ive been nauseous especially if i get right up in the morning and about mid day or night. ive felt a lil tenderness in my lower abdomen and lately its been like im bloated there but not. my pants are started to feel a lil tighter in the front then usual. i took a test mid feburary but it was negative. last time i had sex was janurary 19th so i think id be about 12weeks. would it be safe to take a test if im still spotting tomorrow morning? should i even test? or should i just go get a blood test? what test would you pefer? also, has anyone had spotting like this and turned out pregnant or knew they were pregnant and had spotting? thanks for the answers, i appreciate it.

  • Just grab a couple of tests from the dollar store. They're just as effective as the national brand ones are (I actually got a positive on those BEFORE an early detection, national test). I didn't get a positive test until I was at least 6 weeks along. Your periods might just be wacky. I would go ahead and take a test or two and if you still think you might be after getting negatives, make a doctors appointment. That's what I would do.

  • Are you on any form of birth control?

Testing again wouldn't hurt anything, but I'd probably schedule an appt with your dr. Blood tests are more accurate anyways.

  • Oh and if you're still feeling really weird and you don't want to see an OB/GYN, you might want to make an appointment with your family doctor to get checked out. Many things can contribute to the things you mentioned, not just pregnancy.

  • I had a full blown period until I was six mo along so I would go ahead and test.
