Washer/dryer?

Looking to get a relatively inexpensive washer/dryer combo this weekend/next week.

What brands are the best? What should I look out for when getting a new set?

  • We have always bought Sears. Thay last for years. You might make sure it has the energy efficiency rating. I think most do these days. I always go for the basic models. I don't need anything fancy for a washer and dryer. I do like a dryer that buzzes before it shuts off though, so you have a chance to get shirts out before they wrinkle. .

  • Fisher & Paykel were the least expensive brand my husband found. They are holding up too!

  • If you have a dent and ding place in your area I would go there. We bought our range at one several years ago and it is still working great and we saved a few hundred dollars on it.

  • We were a loyal Sears/Kenmore family however after our last few appliance purchases from there I wont be going back. I know home depot has many brands and price points to chose from. I have my eyes on an LG set

  • Sears is actually having a great sale this week, check them out. We have Maytag Neptunes - probably not something we would buy if we could do it all over again.
