Baby Names

So DH and I prefer unusual names, but try not to be off the wall (so please keep your comments to yourself). Our DD is almost 5 her name is August Ruth. We are expecting DD #2 in June, and we're pretty sure of a name though to be sure I started going through other options with hubby, he is insistent on our name choice Aberdeen "Abbie" however we're now looking for a perfect middle name. So I thought I'd ask what other mom's thought.

Hubby loves Aberdeen Gail (Abbie what's your middle name Gail? he finds it hilarious---i think that's a bad reason to name your child).

Aberdeen Sona (DH's grandmothers name, DD has my grandmothers name as a middle name)
Aberdeen Jo (DH's mom's middle name, or Josie as a variation)
Aberdeen Claire
Aberdeen Chloe
Aberleen Kailyn
Aberdeen Kylie

I am thinking I'm looking for sometihng feminine, not long, not sure...other suggestions welcome! Thanks :)

  • "Abbie" Jo doesn't sound too bad. I think Aberdeen is quite a mouthful tho.

  • we chose aberdeen because it's a city in Scotland...It is a mouthful, that's why I'm sure she will almost always be called Abbie. I had always liked Abbie/Abigail, but too popular for hubbys taste.

  • Abbie or Abigail is so much nicer than Aberdeen, which sounds like an institution. It is really going to be challenging making this one feminine, I don't think the middle name is enough...perhaps you can place Aberdeen as the middle name?
