Well crap....it figures!

My MIL called wanting the sewing machine she gave me 5 or 6 years ago.

I have looked high and low and think I gave it away.

Now I have to call her back and tell her :( I dont wanna! She has all these plans to make curtains, now she has no sewing machine!!!!

  • I guess you're stuck telling her the truth sweetie.
I would do so gently as to not offend her....unless she's the type of person you don't mind offending.
I would say something such as...I thought I would end up using it more but I didn't.
So I ended up giving it to a friend who would put it to good use.
I am terribly sorry to cause you any inconvenience.

  • Call her and say Oh my gosh, when you called it had been so long since you GAVE it to me, I forgot it broke, and the repair bill was going to be so high, that I just donated it,,,,it happened right after you gave it to me, and I didn't want to hurt your feelings,,,so sorry!

  • I wouldn't stress it bc it was such a long time ago. If you are not comfortable with telling her you got rid of it, then tell her like Kimigogo that you got rid of it bc it broke a long time ago.

  • Just tell the truth and offer to replace it. Lying about it is kinda immature.
