If many more waivers are issued, Obamacare may be dead by default.

Does this say ANYTHING to the supports about was a mess the HC bill actually is? I think it says a lot regarding incompetence of the democrat party.

The number of waivers the Obama administration has awarded for a provision of the year-old healthcare reform law grew by 128 in March.

With the new waivers, that means 1,168 businesses, insurers, unions and other organizations have received one-year exemptions from a healthcare reform provision requiring at least $750,000 in annual benefits.

  • Why is that so bad ? Don't those granted waivers have to agree to something in order to qualify for waivers ? What is it they must do ?

Not sure what they have to do, but if so many companies and UNIONS (who said they were for it) are asking for waivers it must not be very good. If it was soooooooo good why would they want to be exempt from having to abide by it? And unions are supposed to be for their members, if it's sooooooo good (and the unions campaigned for it to pass) why do they want their members exempted?

Makes you go Hmmmmmmmmm, there must be something wrong or people would be in line to get it, not running the other way.

  • Your next door neighbor gets a waiver on her don't. She's a democrat and gives favors to the lender. Your fellow employee gets excess tax allowances because she is a donating democrat to the company Christmas party. Your child's teacher refuses to give your child an A because you are a republican. The waitress at the restaurant is denied certain tip rich tables because she is a republican. Seems unfair to me but I'm just a conservative woman...what in hell is the difference!!! They all contribute to or back or otherwise belong to the democrat party...or did so in the past to help ensure the obamanation that was elected.

They can not afford to meet the mandates of Obamacare. The entire atate of Maine has been exempt as well. Why?

The federal government Tuesday granted Maine a waiver of a key provision in President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, citing the likelihood that enforcement could destabilize the state's market for individual health insurance.

  • Waivers are being given to companies that have employees that will depend on coverage. I thought this bill was supposed to make health care affordable for the lower wage earners? If that's the case, why is McDonald's one of the waiver winners? I mean, their employees aren't high wage earners and part timers don't qualify for health care coverage. Some people don't like to admit that they were sold a lemon, but that doesn't change the fact that this bill is nothing more than a wet kiss to the health insurance industry and big pharma as well. This bill does NOTHING for actual health care in this country.

  • I thought Obamacare was a finely tuned machine that required all parts to work together for success? What happens when you exempt that many people out of it? Won't that raise the costs even more for those still participating??

I suppose this process might be the easiest death for it though...just exempt it to death!
