Wedding gift etiquette

My boyfriend and I were each invited to a friends wedding (individually). Would it be appropriate for us to buy 1 gift and give it as a couple, or do we need to bring seperate gifts?

  • one should be fine...i'm assuming they invited you individually because it's a mutual friend? some people don't know how to invite couples that aren't married/engaged.

  • One gift is fine but you may want to spend a little more then you would if it was just from you. For example, if you would normally give a $50 gift maybe get one that is about $75 or so.

  • One gift sounds appropriate. You were invited separately because you're not married. But they know you're a couple...so I'm sure they wouldn't mind one gift from you both.
