Is the nub theory true, I was wondering. Im only 12 weeks 4 days. Can you tell the sex? How can you? Lol. I am so curious, this is obviously my first baby

  • Awe how precious :) I love ultrasounds. It really is hard to tell what you could be having at this point because the genitals are just now forming. I had an ultrasound at 12-13 weeks and was given a percentage with my 1st. They told me 60 percent girl, they were right. It isn't accurate though of course. At 18-22 weeks they should e able to give you the answer you are looking for :)

    Check out this link.. It will show pics of what a boy looks like at so many weeks compared to what a girl looks like at the same amount of weeks gestation.. At this stage, both boy and girl looks about the same. Until about 20 weeks they look very similar...

    I said about ladies, it is not concrete :)

  • "nub theory"? Genetalia doesn't form until about 16 weeks. You can't tell the sex from any nub before that. Even when the genetalia is formed they can still be wrong - I had a 22 week u/s and was told boy, 18 weeks later out came a girl. This wasn't that long ago either.

  • My friend had a 4D ultrasound at 12 weeks and clear as day, was a boy. Penis, testicles and all:). It's possible!

  • oh wow. my next appointment i'll be 16 weeks and like 5 days. maybe they can see something then! I think boy too...not because of the picture, just a feeling!
