Is Addison better for a girl name or a boy?

If I ever have another child, and if it is a girl, I will probably name her Addison. I love the nickname Addie. My son's name is Adrian, which is spelled like a boys, but can also be a girls, lol i guess all the names I like are either or! lol so what do you think? Addison is a girl or boy?

  • Either or. My friend in high school was named addison (boy) but if we have a girl this time around we will be naming her Addison :) it is all on your preference.

  • Lol, Addison's disease is named after the person who discovered it. I don't think it means no one else can have that name.

For me, once a name starts becoming "unisex," it becomes a girls name. So I always view Addison as a girl's name, but to each his own!

  • I think historically Addison was a boy's name but at this time it's definitely more associated with girls. I think it's an adorable name personally and I love the nickname Addie. I have a cousin named Addie but her full name is Adelaide.

  • IMO Addison is a disease not a name... I guess not everyone would make that connection though.

  • Addison is a large town In the burbs of Illinois. It could be a girl's name I suppose. Definitely not a common name
