Looking for some good magazines or publications geared toward financial advisors and loan officers?

If anyone here works as a financial advisor, mortgage broker or loan representative, could you please recommend some worthwhile trade publications that would be informative and useful? It would be greatly appreciated! (Websites and e-newsletters are also welcome.)

  • A lot of professional organizations publish journals similar to what you are seeking.

Google "professional organizations for financial advisers" and see what comes up. I found:

    http://www.napfa.org/
    http://www.iarfc.org/
    http://www.naipfa.com/

I am sure there is a way to subscribe to their publications without becoming a member, but you would not have the other benefits.

  • I don't really know specifically what you are looking for but Bestmoneyinfo.com is good.  And I listen to a radio money show every Sunday AM 9 - 12 EST on WTKK radio.  Just Google WTKK.  Susan Kaplan is on almost every week and she is one of the top 20 financial advisors in the country.   A couple of suggestions........always ask to see the Morningstar ratings sheets of any mutual funds someone recommends.  Look at the fees. Often an advisor will only recommend those that pay them a big commission.  Similarly do not buy an annuity.  Huge fees go to the advisor.  You should use a fee only advisor.  GL
