  • If his only allergy is to dairy there are tons of dairy-free options out there from soy cheese to rice milk, non-dairy yogurts, etc. My daughter is allergic to dairy, eggs, nuts and soy so I've tried a lot of alternatives. A lot of children get calcium, vitamin D, protein, and fat from dairy sources so those are things I try to replace. We use rice milk which is fortified with calcium and vitamins. She loves noodles with olive oil instead of butter. Olivio spread is really good and it's non-dairy, tastes great on toast, etc. I make chicken pot pie and my dd has always loved that, too. Pizza is popular- I just get her pizza with no cheese but you can also make your own with dairy-free cheese. There are non-dairy ice creams, desserts, etc, out there, too. Some recipes I replace cow's milk with rice milk if it just calls for a few Tb of milk it usually doesn't make a difference. Good luck- it's hard but there are lots of options.

  • My kids love wraps because they can hold them, I use whole wheat wraps (don't have dairy like most breads do), turkey bacon (chopped into small pieces), spinach, tomato, and avocado with a little mustard. They also like it with turkey.
My 2 year old was allergic to dairy until he grew out of it around 12 months, so he and I were both dairy free that whole time since I was breastfeeding. I made pizza with the soy cheese, and it was really good! There are some great recipes for whole wheat pizza dough, usually don't require any dairy. Good luck!
