Scared of storms?

I have a 6yr old who is scared of thunder storms....his 3 younger brothers aren't as jumpy about them as he is. One of the things that helps calm him down is reading books and coloring. Then we discuss the book or books we have read and about the pictures that he drew. It is a great distraction and it gives the opportunity to spend some relaxing qulity time together. If your childrne are afraid of storms.....what are some things you do to help calm them down or comfort them?

  • Mine have all always been. When they were little theyd climb into bed with me if it was at night. If it was during the day or early evening we would do the same, and watch a movie or whatever to make them feel comfortable.
