My daughter just turned 5 and all of sudden her behavior changed.

She talks back more, screams at the topof her lungs if she does not get her way. I do not give into the screaming. No matter how many time outs this still goes on. sometime she just smirks after talking back. Times out are just not doing it or taking things away. Any suggestions.

  • It only gets worse from there!!!! Put her to bed early. Don't let her go outside, make her go straight to her room!!! Be consistent!!! This is power struggle time!!!!

  • Besides time outs do her actions have consequences? Maybe next time she acts out she loses a favorite toy until she can earn it back with good behavior. I think for strong willed children timeouts aren't always enough.
