Lets share some tips & become more healthy =)

So with all this going green & eating healthy stuff its hard not to attempt & jump on the ban wagon. Its expensive to convert 100% though & hard in general. I wanted to see what you & your family has done to help better your eating habits & the enviornment.

-We go through 1 roll of papertowels every 3/4 weeks... I have lots of dish rags & every 2wks wash them
-Cut down on the amount of chemicle products that we use meaning if I need to clean something I dont immediately run to the bleech spray to clean it, etc.
-We have cut red dye 40, blue dye 1 & yellow dye 5 out of our daughters diet
-Cook more things from scratch & eat more whole wheat/multi grain products
-Eat more balanced meals in general
-Recycle everything we possibly can

Come on share the little things that you have done to help get your family to be more healthy in general? I feel that all/any little thing helps & I continue to try & add a thing here & there in an attempt to convert our family into being more healthy.

  • I cook with olive oil, almost never make fried foods, use a lot of meal "fillers" like onions, peppers, veggies etc, to make us full on good things not bad things, my son drinks mainly water and non sugar added flavored water. Every little bit helps.

  • I make my own cleaners, laundry detergent, deodorant, shampoos, etc etc. I was able to slowly stock up on organic products before going completely organic by buying 1 item in bulk each week (such as 3 bags of organic brown rice 1 week, then organic quinoa another, then organic frozen I may want).

Grow your own garden or at least visit a local farmers market or join a CSA. You can find them at: www.localharvest.org

Bake your own bread, make your own butter with organic cream.
