  • A good DJ is a lot of fun. I think kids like to hear the exact song they hear on the radio, not a band's version of it.

we're doing an open mic thing for our reception tho to cut down on costs.. DH used to be in a band and almost all of his friends are musicians of some kind. =)

  • Band are better. Especially if you know them and love their music.

  • DJ! I've also heard about people just loading up an iPod with good songs and hooking it up to a speaker system - definitely the most affordable, especially if you've already got an iPod around with a lot of space!

  • If $ is tight - DJ.

  • Since a DJ is just one person (or two, they might need an assistant or something) they are usually cheaper than a band. And with a DJ you don't have to worry about them not playing well, or having the music you like. On the other hand, a lot of people prefer live music.
    Personally, I prefer DJs.
