We are having French Dip sand. tonight for dinner and bought this Au Jus Sauce (concentrated).

Directions: ADD TWO PARTS WATER TO ONE PART CONCENTRATE. BRING TO BOIL AND SIMMER 10 MINS. I am alittle confused what 2 parts water and 1 part concentrate means?

  • Is it powder or liquid? If it is liquid, just pour it out into a measuring cup and however much it is, add double that much water. So, if you pour 1 cup of liquid au jus sauce into a pot, add 2 cups water, or if it is just 1/2 cup sauce, add 1 cup water. If it is powder, and there is a good amount, you could do it the same way.
    We buy the small pouches of it, and you just whisk like 2 cups water into it slowly and bring it to a boil. It's easy.

  • If it's a jar of liquid, pour it in a saucepan. Fill the jar up with water, add to the pan, fill it up again with water and add it to the pan. 1 part mix, 2 parts water.

  • I find those concentrated au jus too salty - you might want to water it down a bit too.
