How do you get baby use to not having cereal in there bottle anymore?

He was a very refluxy young baby so the doctor had us do a combination of rice cereal and zantac since about 3 months old but has since grown out of his reflux and is off the zantac.
Ok the problem is that he doesn't really need the cereal anymore but without it he gags on the bottle. He's 8 months old and using medium flow nipples.
Do I have to go back to newborn nipples(he was never very fond of them) or what?

  • Try the newborn nipples again and you could also introduce a sippy cup. If he can hold things let him explore a sippy cup with some formula in it. Some babies get used to it quickly, or it might take awhile, but you might try it.

  • I would do new born nipples as well as offer him a sippy cup occasionally
