Is it ok to pu while pregnant if I am already starting to leak?

I am 22 weeks pregnant today. And I already am leaking. If not when can I start to pump?

  • No, it can cause premature labor. No pumping until baby is here. Just wear nursing pads if its that bad.

  • I wouldn't yet. Pumping can cause your uterus to contract. Buy some breastpads. I wouldn't worry about the pumping until after baby is born.

  • No. The baby will drink breast milk after birth. You don't need to pump the colostrum.

    Are you at-risk for PTL?

  • Will the frozen colostrum be a Home Remedy or baby's food?
The baby will need milk not colostrum for nourishment.

  • No don't pump. The hormone that produces milk is the same one that triggers labor. The baby WILL need the colostrum at first. Just get some nursing pads to prevent leaking.
