  • At 8, she is certainly old enough to talk through . . . what does she say about it? I am sure it has been done already, but someone should explain to her about noticing how it feels to have a bowel movement ready to come out. When she feels that sensation, she should go to the potty and sit.
Also, try implementing two times a day for her to sit on the potty for 15 or more minutes. Make sure she has a stool for her feet and something to read to relax her. Hopefully, she will be able to make a BM, and get used to doing it that way.
If nothing like that is working, please continue to speak with her physician about ruling out physical or emotional problems that could be getting in her way.

  • Google "encopresis". Discuss with her pediatrician. It is curable.
