Crawling????

so my daughter just rolled from back to front today she's been doing it for a couple days now and me and my husband were wondering what age they start crawling. I know every baby is different but when is the normal time? she's almost 4 months.

  • My daughter rolled from belly to back at 3 months, from back to belly at 4 months, did the "army crawl" at 5 months and now at 6 1/2 months is working on her crawling technique.

My neighbors daughter on the other hand was about a month behind my daughter with all her milestones.

There really is no time that they need to crawl by...some babies never do. My little cousin didn't really crawl...he did the army crawl for about 2 weeks and then started pulling himself up on stuff and walking.

*shrug* they are all different mamma! Just wait...when they DO start crawling, then its all over! lol

  • my daughter never crawled, only did a butt scoot - she was fine - walked at 13 mths - docs worried about hand eye coordination, but it was never an issue. my boys crawled at about 8 mths.

  • The 'average' is anywhere from 6-10 months actually. Just goes to show how different babies can be. Some children never crawl, some children do a modified crawl, not a traditional up on hands and knees. And most of the time, bigger babies tend to run a bit more behind because they have more weight to support.
