What icing goes best with Red Velvet Cake?

I'm not a sweet eater, but I'm baking a cake for step son's bday. What would you recommend. And any recipes would be appreciated.

  • everyone says cream cheese and while it is the most common frosting for red velvet i personally hate the stuff, because it tastes like cream cheese, which i :puke: have always hated. i think butter cream is a great frosting. it's not overly sweet. it's just a nice creamy finish
