Anyone ever graduate from a medical school/institute? Are they scams?

There are so many tv commercials these days for medical institutes that have short term courses. Nursing, Sonography, etc.
I don't know anyone that attended these schools. I think they are scams, what do you think?

  • Most of the time, your best bet is to go to a school like a community college or vo-tech that is a not-for-profit institution. Oftentimes they will have distance learning classes. So many for-profit schools cost much more than a community college and they do not have the same reputation. Usually classes at these schools do not transfer or are not accepted by more traditional schools. This could be critical should you decide later to upgrade your degree. You also run more risk of the for-profit closing down suddenly thereby leaving you with a partial degree and a load of student debt.
