How long can you refrigerate homemade cookie dough? Will the baking soda and baking powder still be active?

I made a double batch of peanut butter cookies and I want to refrigerate some of the dough.

  • I had some choc chip cookie dough that I put in the fridge in the bowl w/ a lid and forgot about for 2 weeks. I got it out and baked it, and it came out fine. So, I'd say at least 2 weeks in a bowl/lid, and longer if you do what the other ladies suggested.

  • Wrap well in plastic wrap and place in an airtight bag. It lasts 4 weeks.

  • You can freeze it, too. I'm pretty sure you can freeze it up to a year.

  • You can store, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, for up to 2 weeks with most recipes, or freeze up to 3 months.
