My son is 3 months old, he has RSV for the second time (this time is worse) and he has different symptoms this time. Just wondering if I need to take him back to the dr. His breathing is getting worse. We are now doing albuterol treatments every 2 hours instead of 4. He now sounds like he is rattling when he breathes and coughs. His breath smells horrible and his pee smells horrible.... Anybody had any of these problems or know what to do?

  • Please call your doctor and take him in. What you have described might need more than the albuterol.

I hope he gets well soon!

  • I'd definitely get him to the doc. My DS had RSV and had to be hospitalized.

  • Poor guy, our DD 3mo had it already too (DAMN DAYARE!) Her Pedi asked if her urine smelt normal, so if that is an issue I would def. contact the doctor. With us we didn't have smelly urine issues, so I can't offer any advice.

  • I wouldn't hesitate...get him in there sooner then later. Yes, RSV is nothing to mess around with.
    Hope he's feeling better soon!

  • Sounds to me like he's a bit dehydrated, and needs to be seen by his Dr ASAP. Hope he's feeling better soon.

  • He needs to be seen ASAP.
Albuterol should not be given at home every 2 hours on a baby that young and most likely has no impact on RSV... nebs don't usually help much.
