  • I see no reason why our military should have to worry about whether or not they're getting paid when it's been no secret that they're not going to stop paying themselves their six figures.

  • According to the White House they won't be paid if the Gov shuts down. This whole thing is political. Dems had time to come up with a spending bill before Repubs were seated. They made the choice not to so they could get to this point. They are counting on the American citizens to be angry and blame Repubs for this since they ate up the whole party of no thing they spread around. This is calculated and the threats from the White House that the military won't be paid and the elderly are going to starve are to create emotion and anger. I guess Dems are no better than Repubs when it comes to fear mongering.

  • A week of having to make their own coffee and read their own email and they'll be willing to negotiate again. The people hardest hit financially are the regular people who work at all the agencies - including the congressional staffs, but the people most inconveniences will be congress having to act like adults and take care of themselves in their own offices.

  • My take on it is the government is too big to fail and the powers that be will at the last minute compromise enough to prevent that from happening.

"U.S. troops would be paid through Friday, but after that, paychecks to members of the military, including those in war zones, would stop. The National Institutes of Health would stop accepting new patients and would put clinical trials on hold."

Glad ya'll will be fine though Gammie.
