Chili and tomato paste

I can't remember how many cans of tomato paste I used to use in chili. The only recipe I have now uses tomato soup, but I didn't like when I made it that way, so I picked up some tomato paste for this time.

So... is it one small can or two?

  • I have never made chili with tomato paste...but I'd start with one and add the second if one isn't enough. Better to start small, if you add both right away and it's too much you can't take it back out!

  • I don't use any. But I use two when making pasta sauce. So I would think only one can.

  • I don't use paste. I use tomato sauce OR just used diced tomatoes with the juice.
