How to get my sheets soft?

I made a mistake and bought a cheap sheet set and it's sooo scratchy. Ok, I'm not gonna lie,I was being cheap...... anyways, is there any way I can get them to soften up? I've washed and used a ton of liquid fabric softner.... but they are still scratchy!
Any ideas?

  • I add tea tree oil to all my laundry. It makes it smell fresh and everything comes out really soft.

  • leeleee, my mom told me to stay away from those because they get stretched out and don't fit the mattress after a while, is this true? (she doesn't use those kinds, she's just assuming)

  • @juliejacobkyle, teatree oil is also very good at keeping any lice your kids may come in contact with at bay.
