How long does it take for strawberries to grow?

  • My husband's grandmother used to grow stawberries. She would pluck the flowers off the first year they were planted to make each plant stronger. So in the second year she had a nice crop. They are ripe the monthof June. Hope this info is helpful

  • It takes a couple of years before you can get a good crop going. They're not something you can plant and harvest bushels from immediately - the first year you're not going to get much.

  • first year they are slow the second they grow and the third they show. you will get a few here and there but it takes a while for perennials to grow

  • hybrid strawberries nowdays produce well the first year. it is recommended to pull off the flowers the first year but it's not really necessary. You can plant some now, and have strawberries in 3 weeks. GL
