  • An IUD that lasts for up to 5 years. It can be removed at any time (by a doctor, not yourself) and you should be able to try to conceive as soon as you have it removed. It is supposed to be one of the more successful birth control methods. I have one and my doctor told me that when it's implanted, you can bleed for up to 4-6 months after, however, I have not. They also said that after having it for a year or two, you can stop having a period all together. My DS will be 7 months tomorrow and I haven't had a period yet.
