Does anyone think

the laws aren't tough enough? I mean again tonight on the news was a guy who went into a school, open fired and then shot himself.

Besides taking his own life...do you think we don't give enough punishment? Maybe if they knew they would be in prison for life or get the death penalty they would think twice?

Granted this one happened in Brazil....but it seems to be very common now a days.

  • idk if a death penalty would deter them if they were intent on killing themselves also. BUT no the laws are not set right. Not hard enough on some and too hard on others. AND if you were part of a crime with more than one person involved YOU should not be allowed to plea bargain just for turning on someone......

  • The problem with your theory is that people aren't imprisoned until after they've committed the crime.
Harsh sentences are not shown to deter crime. People who commit crimes like these are usually mentally unstable

  • Maybe we could lethally inject the guy's corpse? Would that be enough?
I'm not sure what your point is. Someone who is going to shoot up a school and then kill himself, is not going to be deterred by longer prison sentences
