What does Obama have against the military?

During the 1995 shutdown, the Clinton Administration followed the OMB guidance issued during the Reagan Administration that ensured the military was paid during a government shutdown. The Obama Administration, it seems, is taking a different direction. Why?

  • Yes Clinton issues an executive order (as did Reagan) paying the military. Google clinton exec orders... Research the Clinton and Reagan presidencies~ Yes it true, Obama has not yet done this. Negative change with questionable hope.

  • Janet, Obama has definitely decided to hang our soldiers out to dry. Read this ~ and if you bounce back to the home page there are several other articles detailing exactly what military members/families can expect this time around.

There is one chance ~ if Obama doesn't veto HR 1297 ~ which he has stated he will. Bad Obama. Bad CinC.

  • If, indeed, Obama

(meaning the Progressives who control the political decisions in the Administration & Congress - Progressives are usually in the Democrat Party, but there are Progressive Republicans and non-partisans, too)

WERE "against the military", a main reason would be because the military is actively sworn to uphold the Constitution and educated about the Constitution. That is the military's main threat to the Progressives' goals for gaining power in America, as they have achieved power in Europe, the UN, etc.

A fundamental reason that the Progressives CALL themselves "Progressive" is their push to "progress BEYOND" the restrictions in the Constitution, most especially the restrictions on gov't power.

As to the current drama in DC, I am hoping "they" do not use a gov't shutdown to inflict extra misery and spark populist anger & a CRISIS, so they can get away with even MORE power grabs - like with the stimulus & GM

  • What do Republicans have against Federal employees in the better question

Answer by adnilm at 8:09 AM on Apr. 8, 2011

  • I feel that he thinks of military as a pawn to get what he wants.

adnilm, if you feel that is a better question then what is stopping you from posting it as it's own instead of attempting to hijack someone else's question?
