Would steamed vegetables (ex. carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) go bad in my child's lunch by their lunch time? I would chill it & it would be eaten in 5 hours.

  • Do they have an icepack in their lunch box?

  • How warm is it where you live? I live in the tropics and my kids have no fridge or air con where their school bags (lunches) are stored, and I'd be confindent that packed steamed veges would stay fresh. Make sure they are well chilled and then wrap in foil and/or pack with a little ice pack thing. Should be fine.

  • Why steamed? Why not raw?

  • Or, why not get a food thermos so they can eat them hot? I'd think cold steamed veggies would be slimy & gross.
