Teething or Ear infection?

My son is 8 months old and has been teething for the last month or so. No teeth yet. He's not been sleeping well at night and wakes up screaming. We've tried Motrin and Tylenol neither seem to help that much. Any suggestions? Not sure if we should take him to Dr.

  • Take him to doctor, better safe than sorry.

  • Is he nursing? If so, nursing helps with teething. And a few drops of BM in the ear will help with the ear.

You almost never need a doctor for nursing or an ear infection.

  • I would check his body temperature. If he's running fever, it's more likely an ear infection and would need to see the doctor.

  • I would take him to a doctor, my son never had fevers with his ear infections.
