If you got divorced from your child(ren)'s father, and he died 23 years later, would you expect to be included in "immediate family" during funeral proceedings, etc.?

  • No, but as your children's mother, you will be right there. You are there to comfort them because their father died. That puts you front and center.

  • Well, as the children would be adults by then, I would say no, but it would probably be up to the children as more then likely, they would be considered next of kin. I will say though, if my dd's (4) father died while she was still a child, I would expect to sit by her at all times, or she wouldn't go.
