4 Bumps

Fever 104.1 and drops to 94.9 with sweats.

our 3.5 year old Son became sick on April 4th with 104.1 fevers. doctor prescribed antibiotics (amoxicillin) for throat infection (AGAIN). April 8. Son continued with high fevers so we returned to the doctor who opted to change the antibiotic to Bectrum. NOW, son's fever dropped from 102 to 94.9 with sweats. He is breathing normal and seems to be resting very well. should i be worried about the low temp and sweats? I want to warm him up but maybe the sweating is a good thing.

  • The sweating could just mean that his fever has finally broke. That would also explain such a low grade fever. Hope he gets feeling better.

  • Sweating is a good thing. Fever finally broke. She should be on the recovery side now. After a high fever for that long, I would recommend getting him to soak in a bath tub with Epsom salts. He is going to have some achy muscles after a fever like that. And push push push fluids.

  • thank you everyone for your replys. 24 hours after changing the antibiotic, our son is doing so much better. he no longer has a fever but we must continue the antibiotics for 10 days. We do have a scheduled appointment with and ENT to determine the cause for the many throat infections that he has developed over a 12 month period. i hope he is well

  • Sweating is part of the process, just means the fever has broken. Just make sure to change his clothes once they are wet from the sweat. Hope your little one is all better reallly quickly.
