Is this normal? adult content

I have had my period for 2 weeks. In that time, I have used 54 maxi-pads, 36 tampons and ruined 4 pairs of pants. My Doctor, says I'm fine. I'm feeling light headed, and weak, but I'm not anemic. What is the best way to fix this problem?

  • Your Dr is wrong. You get dizzy from loss of to much blood. FIND another Dr.

  • Go get a second opinion. I took a friend of mine to the ER because she had such a heavy flow that wouldn't go away and she also was feeling light headed. She ended up having a pretty serious condition in her uterus. Can't remember the name but she needed a transfusion and was put on estrogen.

  • Are your periods typically this heavy? Are you on any medications? If this is typical, this could be endometriosis, particularly if you're having some heavy cramping. But definitely get a second opinion. This isn't normal, even if your iron levels are within the normal range.

  • CPCrane. I'm not on any meds, and yes they are heavy normally, but this is too heavy. They seem to be getting heavier and lasting longer as I get older. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cope until I can get into a new Dr.'s office? I'm at my wits end and it is driving my DH crazy because he can't do anything for me. Can I request a hysterectomy?
