Holiday Activities

What are some crafts or activities for the holidays on a budget i'm running out of ideas after Halloween and Thanksgiving. We've already made ornaments and are planning on cookies this week. I try to do an activity monday thru friday so my two year old does not get bored since there are no kids around here.

  • We make a Christmas chain out of construction paper (red and green), or plain white and color Christmas things on them, trees, reindeer, santa, pies ect.. there is enough to count down the days till Christmas, the kids take turns taking one off every night before bed. We do this every year and the kids look forward to it. If your kids are big enough you can string popcorn for decorations. This is time consuming and fun.

  • You could write a letter to Santa and have your LO color a picture for him. Put up your decorations together, decorate the tree together, go to the library and read holiday books, go around to look at decorated houses...and check the paper, a lot of times they will have local activities to bring the kids to that are free or low cost.
