What is a good car seat for ERF?

I plan on leaving my baby rear facing until at least 2 now that the guildines have changed. Does anyone have a recommendation of a carseat they liked for this? I was thinking about skipping the infant seat and just getting a convertible. I hate carrying the infant seat around. Thanks!!

  • thats my 2 1/2 yr olds car seat, she is 38 lbs and still sits comfortably in it. I think it goes up to 65lbs.

  • If you want to use it from newborn to toddler RF I would go with a MyRide... it fits little ones really well.
My son has a MyRide he's almost 3 years and still RFing.

  • Depends on what you're looking to spend, how long you'd like to ERF and how long you'd like to keep your LO in a 5 pt harness once you go FF. I own the Safety 1st Complete Air65, the Graco MyRide 65 and First Years True Fit. I would recommend any of those, and others too, based on what your needs are.

  • Oh, also, if you DO decide to use a carrier (because sometimes newborns don't fit correctly in some convertibles) you CAN do the infant seat, and just leave it installed, and take baby in and out the way you would with a convertible.
