My almost two-year-old has a chest cold, and is super hot. What can i do to help her?

We have given her a children's cold medicine and children's tylenol to break her fever. When sleeping i put the vix on her chest and feet. She is still burning up. Her temp is staying around the 100s. What can i do?

  • A luke warm bath will bring her temp down. Ice pops are good to give them...if they will eat them for you.

  • I am not sure if they recommend this anymore but my childrens pediatrician used to recommend alternating tylenol and ibuprophen....the ibuprophen will keep the temp down much longer.

  • Try alternating between children's ibuprofen and tylenol. Luke warm baths do help. I wouldn't use too much of the vicks, though, my daughter's ped doesn't recommend it. Make sure to keep your little one warmly dressed but don't overdo it either. Hope everything will be okay soon.
