Do consignment shops buy clothing?

i have 3 identical pairs of size 5 aeropostle low rise boot cut jeans that are way too big for me. could i sell them at a consignment shop?

  • Yes you can. If they sell they get a percentage.

  • Yeah you can. I think that they get a portion of the money that you make on your sale of your clothes.

  • There are some consignment shops that will pay you upfront so you don't have to wait for your item to sell.

  • Consignments usually work this way in my experience: First, you bring the items in. Second, you price them with the guidance of the consignment owner or manager. Third, if they sell, the store gets a percentage of your asking price and you earn the rest.

  • I've done it before. I didn't have to price anything, they offered me a certain amount of money and told me they would raise it by x amount if I didn't want cash but took store credit instead.

  • Yeah but they will only give you about 10% of what you paid.
