My 4 months old is teething, is his gum going to bleed?

If it does, what do you do? I'm just preparing I saw two white cap on his bottom gum, but he's doing good so far not too cranky yet. When do you usually bring your kid to first dental visit?

  • I don't think their gums bleed. at least my son's didn't. My 4 month old is teething also(had diarrhea this weekend) and she is cranky. My dd's doctor suggested going to the dentist at 18 months I think. GL!

  • No not at all.... I have had 5 kids and been thru 4 teethings plus the teething of my 10mo right now. Babies teeth do not bleed when teething. Babies are cranky and irritable due to the pain. I gave mine a frozen wash-rag, frozen teething toy and let them chew it out. Also gave them a little tylenol and all was well.

  • They don't tend to bleed. The best thing you can do is use the type of teethers that you put in the freezer, use infants ibuprofen or tylenol when needed and infants orajel on the gums.

  • No bleeding. DD likes it when we fill her paci (we use nuk) with water by submerging it and squeezing the silicone part and putting it in the freezer.
