Knitting a baby hat

I'm looking at a few patterns for baby hats, and some of them I like (mainly from Bernat's website) have a lining as well as an outer part. I'm just wondering... if I omit the lining and just knit the outside, will the patterns still work?

The hat I'd like to make isn't so much for warmth (as the baby it's for is going to be a summer baby) just more for looks (like the newborn hats you see).

  • I don't see why you couldn't leave the lining out unless it makes the inside prettier.
