Anyone make homemade laundry soap?

If so, do you have a recipe or a link to a recipe?

  • yes, i do:
    1 cup borax
1cup arm and hammer super washing soda
1cup finely shredded Ivory soap (bar)
you only need about 2TBL per load.
Works like a charm and is super cheap and Green!

  • I do!

I double the recipe she gives - it fills up one of those orange Home Depot buckets.

  • Oh yeah, and I just go ahead and use the whole bar of Naptha

  • Exactly what bauerlove said. LOL Powdered one.

Although, I don't shred the soap, I microwave in spurts on low heat until it poofs. Then, I pound it to powder.

  • No, not low or broke. My kids have super sensitive skin and I like to save money anyway

  • I use the Duggar family recipe & it works great:

I use the liquid laundry detergent recipe (I have a top loader), but a friend of mine uses the powdered version & she likes it very much.

  • Are you just running low and broke? I use dishsoap when I am in that situation.
